Live Dallas police calls on a map

DTX Scope shows active Dallas Police calls for service on a live map of the city, using the City of Dallas's public data. It also has a 30-day heat map of cleared calls and a stats panel with today's counts and the most common call types.

Where does the data come from?

From the "Dallas Police Active Calls" dataset on the City of Dallas open-data portal. DTX Scope is an independent site, not run by the Dallas Police Department or the City of Dallas.

How current is the map?

It checks the city's feed every minute and updates without a page refresh. A call leaves the map when it drops off the city's list of active calls.

Why isn't every call on the map?

The city lists only calls an officer has arrived at, and some locations, such as spots on a freeway, can't be placed on a map. Those calls are counted under Unknown location.

What does the heat map show?

Where cleared calls happened over the last 30 days, so you can see busy areas beyond the calls active right now.

Police calls by area

Each Dallas police division has its own page with the calls active now and the last four weeks: Central, Downtown, North Central, Northeast, Northwest, South Central, Southeast, Southwest. See all areas.
